Willy is a 6 year old standard poodle. An owner surrender. Poor guy suffers from sebaceous adenitis. That's okay! SPIN has lots of experience with SA. We will keep him on his meds and start bathing and oil treatments to help him feel less itchy. Our medical team is already on it and the messages and ideas are flying back and forth! He is not ready for adoption yet, but will be as soon as we figure out what the optimal regimen is for Willy. We got you, Willy boy. SPIN's got you.
Foster Update, Oct. 31: Willy, a 6-year-old neutered male Standard Poodle, has Sebaceous Adenitis (SA), a non-contagious condition prevalent in the breed. He requires daily medication and frequent bathing with special shampoos and oils to manage his condition, which has improved his coat and skin. Willy initially displayed fear-based aggression and nervousness but is learning to trust his people through careful handling. He is an affectionate dog once he feels comfortable. He has a penchant for stealing and eating paper products. Willy gets along with small dogs and men, but also enjoys women's company.
