Embrace Your Inner Poodle! We found that we were saying this a lot to the dogs we met.. Some were shut down, others too wild, afraid, energetic, aggressive. Some poodles were just misunder­stood. But they all had one thing in common; they needed to embrace their inner poodle. And then we realized their people could benefit from a good em­bracing too! Rescue is just as much about people as it is about dogs.

We are a small (but growing) group of poodle people. We may be a bit crazy. All we have been trying to do since 2013 is help poodles across Canada get the medical care they need and the great homes they deserve. Any homeless or unwanted standard poodle anywhere in Canada will receive our help no matter what their needs are. When resources permit, SPIN will also help miniature poodles, toy poodles and poodle mixes. Please join us!

All dogs entering our program are spayed or neutered, microchipped, brought up-to-date on vaccinations and have their medical needs attended to. Once we deem a dog ready for adoption, SPIN actively seeks out well-matched permanent homes.

SPIN strives to educate and raise public awareness about how to be responsible for and share your life with a companion animal. We talk about the importance of force-free, positive dog training, of spay/neuter programs, the deplorable conditions found in puppy mills and advocacy for change. We are most proud, however, of our work in engaging like-minded people to care for and celebrate the poodle breed and to come together when necessary to help.
