Amber is a very good girl. After a few days of decompression at her foster home in Ottawa, she doesn't pace around the house or the yard anymore. She is more relaxed, follows them around the house and lays down nearby. They have started taking her for walks. First time was solo. She was a little nervous (tail down the whole time) but followed along nicely. Now they walk her with the other dogs and she's a good walker. Today, her tail came up a little. She's meeting neighbours and other dogs calmly. She doesn't approach people to be petted, she keeps her distance but they have the best neighbours (they are used to their rescues now) and they respect dogs' boundaries. Amber is housetrained, is NOT reactive with dogs OR cats, she knows her name, she doesn't show signs of anxiety when left alone. She doesn't chew or eat anything (but food and sometimes rabbit poop). She is a counter surfer BIG TIME. They have nicknamed her surfer girl. She LOVES to eat and LOVES treats.
