I've found my furever family!

Over the holidays SPIN's wonderful Apollo was adopted. And he wasn't adopted by just anybody. Yes. After 13 fosters they fell so much in love with this beautiful boy they just couldn't let him go. Congratulations to Sharon and Dave!! Apollo must feel like THE luckiest dog in the world. Here is today's update from Sharon.

Tales from a serial foster turned adopter

We have loved, and I mean loved all of our fosters. Some more deeply than others, but we have loved every single one.

When a foster comes along and you fall in love for the 13th time, it MAY not be anything special but when within a few days you realize that there is not one behavior, look or personality trait that this 13th foster has that isn't exactly aligned with your lifestyle checklist, you start to look at them with narrower eyes, assessing potential and beginning to wonder. As that same dog begins to decompress, as they do, you begin to shake your head yes and start to envision your future with this pet in it! Isn't that what love is? Love makes you start to dream in life and imagine a certain future. And so, you work towards making your dream a reality. You KNOW it's right. You KNOW it's perfect. You know it's worth fighting for.

THIS is when you KNOW that this particular thing is your perfect future.

Apollo is our perfect future. We can now love him in a way that is unencumbered, unguarded and unconditional.

Will this change how we foster! Maybe. But we still know we will continue to love any future dogs that come our way. We realize this is our calling. Apollo is the bonus we acquired along the way.
