We're happy to tell you that Bosun has a new furever home. Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.
Bosun has been adopted. Gabrielle and Robert have made a decision that we could not be more excited about.
Bosun came to SPIN as a scared, yet frightening dog who so many have never given up on. John Blackdog brought Bosun in and assessed him and worked everyday with him - taking him out to local watering holes many times. Many volunteers came to just sit quietly with Bosun – not to touch or interact, but just sit there in his company. If Bosun decided to want to have a hand on him, he would cautiously approach and turn to give his butt – that meant that he wanted rubs.
Brenda, Diana, Linda, Carrie , Norma, Christy, Valene, and John all sat with Bosun – for many hours – he did not want to be touched, but he wanted to be near people.
Lynda gave some great training advice.
Bernice, Paula and Laura – who are the founders of SPIN, all took so much time with Bosun too – in many different ways. Bernice listened to me cry, Paula took pictures of the beautiful boy, and Laura was behind us when it came to any medical decisions that needed to be made for Bosun.
The staff at Carter Animal Hospital in Bowmanville were wonderful to work with Bosun, taking the extra time to care for an initially extremely agitated patient in the early days.
Rebekah met Bosun many times before even starting to try to groom him. The last groom he had – she worked with him for over 3 hours – at his pace, taking his ques.
Thank you to everyone who have believed in Bosun – he is on his next journey in life and we are all over the moon for him.
Bosun was difficult to let go for me - the way he stared right into me, the head tilts, and the every so often cuddles will be missed, but i know with all of my heart, he has found his true home.
