I'm ready for my new family!

Bosun is a beautiful, well-mannered, and incredibly sweet Standard Poodle who joined SPIN in February 2025 after being lovingly surrendered by his longtime family. He’s been cared for his whole life, and it shows — Bosun is fully trained, knows all his basic commands, and has excellent house manners. He’s the kind of dog who fits into a home with ease and charm.

Bosun loves to be out in the world! Whether it’s strolling through the neighborhood or enjoying a quiet café patio, he’s calm, friendly, and not reactive to dogs or people. He currently shares his foster home with three other Standard Poodles and gets along well with everyone. He’s curious about cats, but generally respectful and gives them space.

While Bosun has many strengths, he also has a few emotional hurdles he’s working on. Certain barriers — like doorways and enclosed spaces — can cause him anxiety. His foster family is working patiently with him using positive reinforcement training and anxiety medication to help him overcome these fears. He’s already making progress, and with continued support, Bosun will gain more confidence each day.

The ideal home for Bosun:
Bosun would do well in a calm, loving home with people who understand that emotional healing takes time and empathy. He’s great with other dogs and could thrive with a gentle canine companion. A quieter environment without a lot of sudden movement or noise would help him continue to blossom.
