OTTAWA, ON
In March 2024 SPIN welcomed Chanel. Well, this is her name now. She didn't have one before she was released from her service in a puppy mill. Six years old and no name. Thank you to everyone today who was involved in the transport. I'm sure the smell was terrible. When she got to BlackDog Pet Resort in Bowmanville, On, John took one look at her and raced her to the vet. She had a serious wound on her ear, patches of skin, inflamed ears and goodness knows what else. The vet kindly stayed open for us. When John told them she didn't have a name, the receptionist, with tears in her eyes, named her Chanel. We think it's perfect for her. Chanel it is.
Chanel was completely shut down. John had to carry her everywhere today as she simply flattened. A foster home in Ottawa opened their loving arms to Chanel.
By June Chanel's digestive issues were making us really worried. She went vegan in order to rule out food allergies and to treat her pancreatitis! Her hair started to grow back!!! Yet this didn't solve everything and so SPIN sent her to a specialist internal medicine consult, ultra sound, and endoscopy. These medical issues will need to be resolved before Chanel is placed for adoption.
