I'm not quite ready to go to my new home.

Dilbur

WINNIPEG, MB

SPIN received an email saying that they were under intense pressure from neighbours and the Town because their standard poodle was barking too much. Here's the thing. The dog has lived mostly outside his entire life. Had rarely been in a house. Was used for breeding. When breeding season arrived, his barking was intolerable! Sweet dog, though. His name is Dilbur. Could we help? Ummmm. Sure.

When we picked Dilbur up, it was apparent he had been loved. His physical condition was not too bad. A little dusty and dirty, but actually not too bad! We really didn't know what to expect. And he walked into his foster home like he has always lived there. A little stressed as would be expected, but not overly stressed.  But you know what? They were right. Dilbur is sweet. We can't wait to get to know this great dog.

Here is his foster's first update: Our smiley friend Dilbur is really settling in after 10 days here. He is a joy to have around (most of the time) and he adores walks, being with us and retrieving his ball. He has a few things that are still works in progress but he is a really sweet boy, who is learning how to soothe his anxieties and reduce the whining/barking with calmness. He got neutered this week and handled it like a champ.
