I've found my furever family!

Today was haaaaaaaard!! It was full of broken hearts, tears of love and joy and sadness and contentment, full of new beginnings and hearts so full they felt like they were going to explode. I’m a foster mom, and Francis was our most recent foster baby. But today, Francis went home to her fur-ever family and it broke our hearts to watch her go but filled them up to bursting at the exact same time because her fur-ever family is so perfect for her.

When we spoke with Oksana and Dan during the phone interview process we knew that they were amazing. And as soon as we did a meet and greet with them, we knew that Francis was very likely going home with them. After we met their 4 daughters and saw how perfect a match the whole family was for Francis, we knew she had found her family. So today, Francis went home. But there is no sweeter gift then seeing your foster step into their new home like they’ve always been there.

Congratulations Francis, your perfect family was waiting for you!!

If you’ve ever thought that you’d “never be able to foster” because you “wouldn’t be able to let them go”, reconsider. I’m not going to lie, it will break your heart, but fill it so full in the exact same moment that you’ll need the next foster to come into your life so you have somewhere to pour all of that love into. And there are so many dogs in need of that soft landing.
