I'm not quite ready to go to my new home.

Please welcome Frida! Frida is a female two year old standard poodle. An owner surrender, she has been loved all of her life. So pretty. Welcome Frida. We cannot wait to get to know you better.

Foster Update: Two-year-old Frida has been in Ottawa for three weeks. She continues to relax and is a cautious sweet beautiful dog with a lot energy, who loves to chase SPIN alumni, Toby. Toby is ball obsessed so she runs after him whenever he fetches the ball, nipping at his heels. Toby can't keep up with Frida's energy so he ends up lying on the ground with the ball while Frida tries to get him to play again. Frida loves to walk and because there are lots of smells, a 20 minute walk turns into a 40 minute sniffari. If we encounter a squirrel or rabbit close by, she tries to chase after them, so Frida is learning to leave them alone (and goose poop). It's a work-in-progress but she is listening more. Other than those pesky critters and goose poop she walks beautifully. Frida is cautious with new people and dogs in the backyard. She will ask for pets and sniff at the dogs but once she's had enough, she will lie down at a safe distance and observe and after a while she wants more pets. As she meets the same people and dogs over time, she is becoming more at ease with them.
