Please give a big SPIN welcome to Kale. Kale is a 5 year old, male, neutered, standard poodle. Kale's people presented the dog for euthanasia due to owner's health. They have moved into a senior's residence and I guess they didn't know what else to do. The dog is lovely and so the vet told them about SPIN. The moral of the story here is to please watch out for our seniors and help them when they are faced with big life changes. They didn't know about SPIN and they didn't want their beautiful companion struggling. Sigh. But yeah for the vets out there!
Kale was transported to BlackDog on Monday. While a little nervous at first, Kale quickly warmed up. Do you know how? He loves to be brushed and groomed. I am not kidding you. Loves it.
Kale is good with other dogs. Polite. Not overly playful. I have no idea what he is like on leash or whether he counter surfs or gets into the garbage. I don't know if he chases cats. I can't imagine him doing anything terrible. We think he has led a life of joy and happiness with his two seniors who likely doted on him.
