In November 2024, SPIN was asked to bring in two standard poodles, Kim and River. Their person had suddenly become very ill and could not care for them. We said, of course! But there were two logistical problems that had to be overcome. First we had to wait until we had foster homes available. Finally two of the dogs in BlackDog Pet Resort moved into foster homes and SPIN could bring in Kim and River. Now we had to overcome the second logistical problem. Kim and River were on a farm outside Quebec City and with no foster homes close we had to bet them to Bowmanville, On. SPIN's intrepid Transport Coordinator, Steve Blackman stepped up to the plate!After several false starts with a tag team of drivers, Steve finally was able to coordinate with the fantastic Pilots4Paws team. Kim and River were flown into Oshawa. I am just so amazed by the dedication and efficiency of Pilots4Paws. Pilots4Paws is a federally registered not-for-profit, flying rescue animals in need across Canada! It's so amazing. Their pilot today was Kira who battled wind and weather to bring these lovely dogs through Quebec to Oshawa.After a brief stay at BlackDog Pet Resort, Kim found a loving foster home with Laura Lee. We have enjoyed all of Laura's posts about Kim. So great.And now Kim has found her perfect home and she is loved. Oh so very much loved. As she has been all of her life! - Adopt
