Meet Maddy. When Maddy came into SPIN she was 5 years old and full of love and playful energy—a true delight to have around.

Here is the update from her first night at her new home: 

Maddy here. My first night at my furever home was pretty nice! My tummy was a little upset but Mom says it probably because I had so many new things to explore and I was a little overwhelmed at first. There are so many toys! I love carrying them around.

I am very curious about my new brother, Jack. He is curious about me. He let me follow him around and I think we will become friends soon.

I wasn’t quite ready to spend time on the couch with my family but I felt relaxed enough to have a nap on the floor close by. Dad isn’t sure why I didn’t choose any of the many beds available.

At bed time, I snuggled up to mom for a while. My brother wasn’t too impressed but just curled up by her feet. I think he was relieved when decided I felt a little more comfortable on the floor when the lights went out. I slept the entire night until Dad got up this morning. Breakfast was great!

Mom says she loves how I ask for snuggles and scratches. Great first night!

And another update, 3 months later! 

Maddy here! It’s been almost three months since I found my furever family.
And guess what! I turn 6 today! My first birthday with my family.
I am definitely having fun and showing my family my quirky side. I love to play fetch and will run myself ragged. My mom says I am great at snagging balls in the air.
I have my snuggle moments and Mom loves when I cuddle with her. It doesn’t last too long; I get really hot.
I go for walks with my Dad at lunch almost every day, and as a family after dinner now that the weather is nice. Dad says I am starting to get really good on the leash…except when I see another dog, bunny, or cat. I just want to rush and make friends! I am getting better.
I am curious about everyone and everything, and just loving life.
