Meet Mozart — A Beautiful Soul Ready for His Forever Home

Mozart is a stunning standard poodle who has been passed from home to home because people didn't take the time to fully understand him. He’s sensitive, intelligent and deeply loyal—and he’s looking for a calm, steady person who can help him feel safe, connected and truly at home.  

Mozart has big feelings and can struggle when he’s left alone (he is on Fluoxetine 20mg per day). On walks he may pull on a leash and, while he wants to play and be social, he can be a bit awkward at first. He’s not a “bad dog”—he’s a dog who needs guidance, patience and consistency. 

Mozart has lived successfully with other dogs in the past and is currently fostered with a female Standard Poodle whom he absolutely adores. Over the past eight months in foster care, he has shown friendly and appropriate interactions with most dogs, including positive experiences at off-leash parks where he enjoys running, chasing, and playful social time.

Mozart is a sensitive boy who does best when social situations are calm and predictable. He can become a little overwhelmed if another dog is competing for attention, particularly with some male dogs, so thoughtful introductions and clear guidance from his humans help him feel secure. Because of this, Mozart may be happiest as the only dog in the home, where he can fully relax and enjoy his people, though he has shown he is capable of forming lovely friendships with the right canine companion.
