OTTAWA, ON

In rescue we get all kinds of calls and have a difficult decision to make. Do we have a spot for a dog? In this case (and in many others) the answer is a resounding, "Yes!!!!". We received a call to help a three legged, female dog who was living in a puppy mill. How old was she? How did she lose her leg? What leg? We had no idea but we didn't care and brought her in.

The day we picked her up we found that not only had she lost her front, left leg she was lactating. She had just weaned a litter of puppies! Who would do that to her? This girl is so sweet and timid and while we loved her before we met her, we love her even more now! She is so curious about us and is even accepting some pats from us! What a wonderful, forgiving girl!

Nya, a survivor, is now warm and safe and loved, so loved! We need her to rest and won't spay her for at least two months so her body can return to normal. If you are interested in her please check back here or email us around Feb 15, 2024. Hopefully she'll be ready to start searching for her forever home at that time.
